This is always a hit during Christmas, Valentine's Day, or any day for that matter!
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
2 (8 oz.) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1 cup canned cherry pie filling
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 - 2 tsp. milk
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a mixing bowl: combine cream cheese, 1/3 cup powdered sugar, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
- Unroll crescent dough and place each triangle shaped piece with the points outward, leaving a large hole in the middle of your cookie sheet. (Your dough should look like a sun when you are finished.) Spread dough out with your fingers.
- Spread cream cheese mixture on dough.
- Spoon cherry pie filling on top of cream cheese.
- Fold dough points inward and seal at center. (You can twist dough when folding inward for a fancier look.)
- Bake until golden, 25-30 minutes. Cool slightly.
- For glaze: Mix remaining powdered sugar and milk until smooth; drizzle over bread wreath.
- Serve warm. Makes 12 servings.
